OPPORTUNITY FOR OLYMPIANS TO JOIN THE IOC ATHLETE’S’ DEPARTMENT TEAM AT PARIS 2024

Dear Madam/ Sir,

The IOC is offering Olympians an exciting volunteering opportunity to join the lOC Athletes' Department team at Paris 2024. The role will run from 17 July to 11 August 2024. Successful applicants will engage with fellow Olympians at the various Athlete365 Houses, sharing information on the support offered by the I0C on and off the field of play.

The role will help promote the I0C Athletes' Commission election, which will be held at the Athlete365 Houses in the Olympic Villages across France. Contributing to the operations of the Athlete365 Houses at Paris 2024 is a unique opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills. Whether you are still competing, making a transition to a post-athletic career or are long retired from sport, we encourage you to apply to be a part of our team. The role will run from 17 July to 11 August 2024. The candidates are required to be free of all other engagements for this period. There will be an onboarding session in June, and an on-site training session on 17 July at the Olympic Village in Athlete365 House.

All travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the IOC. Uniform and a per diem allowance will also be provided; please note that this is not a paid position.

  1. Must have participated as an athlete in at least one edition of the Olympic Games. who have competed in the Olympic Summer Games will be given priority.
  2. Must have excellent oral communication skills in English, with a good knowledge of one or more other languages.
  3. Must have an outgoing personality and be comfortable initiating conversation with others.
  4. Must be independent and well organized, with the ability to be flexible and handle unexpected situations.
  5. Must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  6. Must have good attention to detail.
  7. Must be comfortable working with computers, mainly Microsoft Office.
  8. Must have diplomacy, tact and discretion.
  9. Must contribute to an atmosphere where team spirit helps to improve performance.
