IOC issues recommendations for IFs and international sports event organisers Back To Main

Dear Madam/Sir,

I am writing to inform you that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently held an online consultation with NOCs, IOC Members, athletes’ representatives, and International Federations, followed by an IOC Executive Board meeting on March 28th, 2023.

We are pleased to share with you the IOC Executive Board Statement, which includes the Recommended Conditions of Participation for Individual Neutral Athletes and Support Personnel with a Russian or Belarusian Passport in International Sports Competitions organized by the International Federations and International Sports Event Organizers. Additionally, we have attached a transcript of the introduction to the remarks made by the UN Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, which was shared during the NOC consultation call.

We hope that these documents will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the Olympic Movement’s position on this delicate matter.
