7 day IOC Sports Administration Course for Men and Women organized by Pakistan Olympic Association concluded at Hotel Pak Heritage, Lahore today. 23 participants (8 female and 15 male) representing various National Sports Federations successfully attended this Course.
3 IOC Qualified National Course Directors namely Engineer Abdul Khaliq Khan, Mian Muhammad Rafiq and Prof. Painda A. Malik tutored the Course. Resource persons like Ms. Veena Masud, Dr. Meesaq Hussain Rizvi and Mr. Muhammad Ali of Daily Times also delivered lectures in their specific areas.
Mr. Shaukat Javed, Vice President, Pakistan Olympic Association, President Pakistan Federation Baseball and Member Punjab Public Service Commission was the Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony who distributed Diplomas to the participants. In his presidential address he desired that such Courses should frequently been organized and the medium of instruction may be mainly in Urdu but blended with English where necessary. Talking about the performance of POA, he apprised the audience that ever since taking over the present management Pakistan is making progress and achieving medals at International level. He hoped that with the good efforts of President POA, Lt Gen Retired Syed Arif Hasan, Pakistan will be able to achieve more distinction in the arena of sports at Regional, Continental, Commonwealth Games and even Olympic Games level.
The Secretary General, Pakistan Olympic Association and Secretaries General of various Sports Federation based at Lahore were present at the Closing Ceremony and all of them appreciated good efforts of POA for creating awareness, understanding and competence of sports leaders importantly to organization and administration of sports.
