ISLAMABAD: Pakistan No 1 Aamir Atlas Khan cruised into the quarterfinals after beating qualifier Shams-ul-Islam in the first round match of 10th COAS Pakistan International Squash Open here Thursday at Mushaf Squash Complex.
Ranked 32 in the world, Aamir found little resistance from Shams and recorded a convincing 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 triumph to confirm his place in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, second seed Farhan Mehboob dispatched Aqib Hanif in straight sets. Aamir’s younger sibling Danish Atlas also secured his place in the quarterfinals after beating his cousin Waqar Mehboob
