The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Pakistan. It was formed in 1948 to oversee the active participation of Pakistan at the Olympiad. Within the Country the POA remains the oldest sport body. It was the premier regulator of sport activities in Pakistan from 1948 until establishment of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) in 1962. Pakistan Olympic Association
The final day of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s Educational Internship Programme featured presentations from the participants, where they shared their learnings, ideas, and experiences. The session was attended by President POA, Mr. Arif Saeed, Secretary General, and other officials, who appreciated the efforts and progress of the interns.
As the programme moves forward, the participants will now work with each desk at the POA Secretariat for 10 days, gaining practical exposure and contributing to the Olympic Movement in Pakistan.
President POA Meets Arshad Nadeem Ahead of World Athletics Championship
President of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), Mr. Arif Saeed, visited star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem during his final training session before his departure for the World Athletics Championship.
Mr. Saeed encouraged the Olympian, patted his shoulder, and conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming competition. On this occasion, the President POA also presented Arshad Nadeem with the official confirmation letter from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding his scholarship for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. The scholarship amounts to PKR 300,000-/ per month for a period of 36 months, supporting his continued preparation at the highest level.
The Pakistan Olympic Association extends its full support to Arshad Nadeem and wishes him the very best as he represents Pakistan on the world stage.
First CDM Meeting – 3rd Asian Youth Games, Bahrain 2025
The meeting was convened at the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) House under the chairmanship of Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chef de Mission/Chairman PMYP, to review preparations and coordination for Pakistan’s participation in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, Bahrain 2025.
The meeting was graced by Mr. Arif Saeed, President POA, along with representatives of the concerned National Federations (NFs), the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), and POA.
Discussions centered on finalizing team arrangements, logistics, and other essential matters to ensure the smooth and impactful participation of Pakistani athletes and officials in the Games.
Day 4 of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s Educational Internship Programme focused on ‘Fair Play, and Ethics. The sessions provided participants with valuable insights into the principles of integrity and ethical conduct in sports, while highlighting the role of all stakeholders in promoting Ethical Values and fostering a culture of fairness within the Olympic Movement.
Day 3 of the Pakistan Olympic Association Educational Internship Programme addressed two significant themes: ‘Olympic Values – Respect, Friendship, Excellence’ and ‘Environmental Awareness. “The programme highlighted the role of Olympic values in shaping character and emphasized sustainability as an essential factor in safeguarding the future of sport and the planet.”
Day 2 of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s Educational Internship Programme focused on ‘The Olympic Movement in Pakistan & the Role of POA.’ Interns also presented their assigned tasks on ‘History of the International Olympic Movement. This Sessions provided valuable insights, encouraging participants to connect global Olympic history with Pakistan’s role in advancing Olympism.
