The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Pakistan. It was formed in 1948 to oversee the active participation of Pakistan at the Olympiad. Within the Country the POA remains the oldest sport body. It was the premier regulator of sport activities in Pakistan from 1948 until establishment of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) in 1962. Pakistan Olympic Association Extends Greetings on the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan
On the auspicious occasion of the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, the President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Mr. Arif Saeed, extended warm greetings to all Pakistanis.
In his message, the President conveyed his prayers for Pakistan to remain strong and successful, and expressed his hope that our athletes, both boys and girls, will continue to advance the nation in this race for success and bring further honour to our beloved homeland.
The Pakistan Olympic Association joins the nation in celebrating this historic day, with best wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity for Pakistan.

Lahore — The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and Beaconhouse School System (BSS) have entered into a landmark partnership to integrate the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) into the learning experience of students, bringing the principles of excellence, respect, and friendship into classrooms and sports fields across Pakistan.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Pakistan Olympic House by Mr. Arif Saeed, President POA, and Mr. Kasim Kasuri, CEO BSS, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. This collaboration reflects a shared belief in the educational value of sport and a joint commitment to preparing young people for leadership, teamwork, and responsible citizenship.
“Sport is one of the most powerful tools for shaping character and values,” said Mr. Arif Saeed. “Through this partnership, we aim to help young people discover the life lessons that sport can teach.”
Mr. Kasim Kasuri noted, “Beaconhouse has always believed in the transformative power of education. By working with the POA, we can give our students experiences that extend beyond academics, helping them grow as confident, principled, and globally minded individuals.”
The ceremony was attended by senior POA officials Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood (Secretary General) and Mr. Muhammad Jahangir (Deputy Secretary), alongside BSS leaders Mr. Ali Ahmed Khan (COO), Mr. Majid Ali Qureshi (Regional Director), Mrs. Fareeha Ahmad (Director Education Development), Mrs. Iram Naqvi (General Manager Student Wellbeing).
Mrs. Tania Mallick, Senior Manager Sports & Athletes Development, BSS / Secretary, POA Education Commission, was also present at the meeting, and her pivotal role in facilitating the collaboration between POA and BSS leading to the development of this MOU was duly acknowledged and appreciated.
This partnership strengthens Beaconhouse’s role as a leader in values-based education and opens the door for POA to extend similar initiatives to other educational institutions, ensuring that more young people across Pakistan benefit from the character-building power of sport.
A high-level planning meeting was held at the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), chaired by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman PMYP, to review preparations for the 1st National Youth Games scheduled for September 2025.
The meeting was attended by the President POA, Federal Secretary IPC, Secretary General POA, Director General PSB, Managing Director OPF, and senior representatives from Ministries of Culture, Federal Education, and Information and Broadcasting. Officials from Provincial Sports Boards, Army, WAPDA, Police, Navy, Air Force, provincial departments, Regional Olympic Associations, FBISE, IBCC, and other relevant stakeholders were also present.
Discussions focused on strategies to establish clear pathways and well-structured qualification events, enabling the identification of the best young athletes from across the country. The National Youth Games are envisioned as a dynamic platform to nurture emerging talent for the Asian Youth Games and prepare athletes for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar in 2026.

POA and Punjab Education Department Join Hands for Student-Athlete Development
Pakistan Olympic Association hosted a productive meeting today with the Punjab Education Department to explore collaborative efforts for promoting sports and Olympic values among students.
Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat, Education Minister of Punjab, attended the meeting and was welcomed by Mr. Arif Saeed, President POA. Secretary General POA, presented the Association’s goals focused on student-athlete engagement and institutional sports development.
Both parties discussed joint initiatives to integrate sports within the education system, promote athlete welfare, and strengthen university-level sports governance. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to empowering youth through structured and value-based sports programmes.
Day 3 Highlights of the Advanced Workshop on Integrity in Sports
The final day of the workshop brought valuable discussions and meaningful reflection, as participants completed a final assessment to review what they had learned and how it can be applied in their roles.
A panel discussion took place, focusing on the importance of leadership, education, and strong values in promoting integrity in sport. Ms. Fatima Lakhani concluded the session with a note of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all involved. Mr. Arif Saeed, President POA, shared closing remarks, stressing the need for continued commitment to fairness, safeguarding, and ethical practices across all levels of sports.
A high-level consultative meeting was held between the Federal Minister for Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and President Pakistan Olympic Association, Mr. Arif Saeed, to discuss the planning and execution of the 1st National Youth Games, scheduled for September 2025.
A comprehensive briefing was given on the proposed structure, objectives, and implementation strategy of the National Youth Games. The initiative aims to provide young athletes with a national platform for competitive excellence, foster unity through sport, and strengthen the sporting culture across Pakistan.
